This ride can be anything from 3 to 21 miles long. Start and finish points are all at railway stations.
This is a varied route offering countryside, docklands, seaside and suburbia. It takes in the attractions of Friston Forest, the scenic town of Alfriston and Drusilla’s zoo park.
The 3 mile ride from Newhaven to Seaford is a good beginners ride.
The ride from Lewes to Seaford is a good run to get you fit because it has enough undulations to keep you fit without wearing you out. But the C7 between Lewes and Newhaven should be avoided in rush hours.
The section between Seaford and Berwick should be started at Seaford because of the steep hill into the Cuckmere valley.
The route can be combined with the Lewes to Berwick ride to make a circular route.
The ride is in two sections. Click on the links for route maps
